I set up the Zoom call with the tutor & she didn’t show. After assuring me she was very interested in the job.

G had a giant meltdown also. I know he was very agitated all day & night yesterday about the wind but I’m not going to excuse him for being rude & disrespectful to me.

What a day so far.

We had 40 mph winds nearly all yesterday, still blowing wildly when I went to bed at 2 am. It brought the temperature down quite a bit, we were under a freeze warning. Right now the temp is 38 but winds make the real feel 16. Crazy since it was just in the upper 70’s.

I lost 3 lbs in the last week, which surprised me since the scale has been going up & down & it makes nearly 14 lbs gone since Dec. And nearly 30 lbs since Jan 2025. Dh came up to me today & asked if I was losing weight, he can see it in my face. I’ve been diligent about tracking & focusing on protein this year. I’ll start adding exercise in when I lose a little more & my hips aren’t hurting so much. I’ll be walking Boo a lot the next few weeks because DH has 2 business trips coming up.

I have a possible candidate for a tutoring job. It’s a hard one to fill because it’s in the day for a homeschooler & most clients want after school tutoring & most tutors want evening tutoring after they get off work. So I’ve asked her to interview today.

I still haven’t pulled all the materials for A’s stocking but I’ll do that today & start tonight. I’ve been tired at night & just working on Pandemic. I’ll put that aside for a few months.

Leftovers for dinner & Dh leaves on a work trip tomorrow evening so I’ll leave most of the housework until he’s gone. Just some laundry to do, & Dh wants to work on business stuff with me this afternoon.

Last night we spent a little over 2 hours at the tattoo shop.  He got DH's tattoo half done recoloring it. And dummy us - we forgot to take a before picture to show how faded it was.  I do have a picture during the progress so we can at least see how badly faded the flames were.  He is doing a great job on it. DH is very happy so far. He has to give this section 2 weeks to heal then he can schedule the final session.

Rolled over about 7am this morning and decided I best get up.  Had my coffee and when DH got up we ran to BJs to get the shopping done.  After he made breakfast.  We weren't sure what we were going to do today so he said give him a bit to check his emails...  I ended up falling asleep on the couch and no clue what he did for the 2+ hours.  We figured we'd go out for an early dinner, we take showers and as i am getting dressed we get hit with a thunderstorm.  a couple bolts hit pretty darn close.  Even set off my neighbors car alarm.  So now we will wait for the rain to pass.  Glad we got some finally - we really need it.

Later I need to prep my breakfasts for the week and I want to redo my nails for St Patty's day.

Carrie - I saw the picture of your St Patty's day dinner for the restaurant.... Looks so good.

Have a great night.

blizzard has started here....another section of my fence has already blown down. there's no traffic so apparently everyone listened and stayed home.

furnace went out at 5pm last night, called a heating company and they sent a guy right over. nice guy. said there would be an emergency service charge and i'm like ok. as long as it's fixed!

on top of that have to call the plumber and the dentist next week. =) the fun never ends.

oh and PT and chiro next week as well.

justin has to go back to the chiro, his back is a mess after the accident. he said the insurance company contacted him the day of the accident and tried to settle. nope.

lady in MN emailed and said they got 10" of snow already. she also said that when she puts their new website into google other sites come up as well. i'm like eh? why would  you type it into a search engine? just put it in the url bar. now she says everything is ruined, they can't use the address on the newsletter and the qr code is opening on google. it damn well is not, it's opening to the website on your browser.

no clue what they're doing over there.

and she ends all of her questions with ??????? which basically means wtf????

off to bake carrot cake

Well, DH decided we are cleaning out W’s closet today since Boo killed the mouse there. What a disorganized mess. Got his clothes hung. We bought him clothes in the fall that still had the tags on. Made a pile for the yard sale, a pile for recycling & took out 2 garbage bags of items he wanted to trash. Vacuumed the room & spot cleaned where the mouse died. All that took over an hour.

The drama continues with SIL’s family.  Niece & nephew got drunk, she hit him, he hit her & gave her a black eye. He reported her to the police. SIL is now down to around 150 lbs. she was about my weight before. We think she’s rapidly declining. I don’t know why she’s not having hospice care already. She’s still undergoing treatments at University of Chicago. Maybe she thinks there is hope? Dh is going to go down earlier than our original planned trip in April & stay a few weeks. Not for her, but to help out FIL who’s greatly stressed by all of this. G & I will fly up separately & stay a few days so I can visit my dad. FIL gave SIL $6k to ward off foreclosure. SIL has alienated all of her family by fighting with them. MIL used to look down on my family as white trash but that family is starting to sound like something off of Jerry Springer. DH wants to make sure they are not taking advantage of FIL financially.

J & W’s friend left this morning. J will drive the friend as far as Austin, where his dad will pick him up (they live in Houston).

Dh is going to finish spring cleaning the patio today. I need to get in the office & email leads & start contacting candidates to interview. Ugh.

J saw the mouse, apparently it got in the house because we left the door from the garage to the house open for Boo because she wanted to keep looking for it in the garage. It went into W’s room. J showed Boo where it was & she killed it in seconds.

hazy sunshine here today, but everyone is just waiting for the storm. i'm betting the stores are packed.

had a guy get his mug a day late on etsy. he wrote about 5 paragraphs this morning about how he just wanted a refund even though his mug was due to arrive today. he only wanted to buy from people who handmade and shipped their own items. etc etc etc. about an hour later he got his mug. so now i'm wondering if he's smashing it to bits to get his refund. =)

whiner.

spent 5 hours on the computer last night catching up with book covers, looks like i'll be doing the same this afternoon. as well as posting the st patrick's day ads.

and learning more about etsy ads. i have a thousand more people viewing my mugs daily, but still only 1 or 2 actually purchasing. that's not a good average.

worked with jayda yesterday who spent over 25 min chatting with the kitchen staff, then came out and grunted at me. =) i stayed nice, asked about her teaching etc and eventually she warmed up. i'm sure pam got to her first.

pam has been extremely vile this past week even though i've rarely spoken to her.. yesterday she threw the ipad about 2 feet just to impress upon me how angry she is.

honestly, i don't give a ****. i'm sure it does wonderful things for her blood pressure.

off to eat lunch then chat with mom. she can't restart her computer. i sent her a video on how to restart it and it turns out she's using an auxiliary monitor and keyboard, so when i tell her to hit the power key on her keyboard, she uses the auxiliary one instead. it doesn't work! sigh.

have a good saturday

That does not sound fun, Y!

J & W’s friend arrived at dinner time last night. We had them move bins around since Boo spent the whole day in the garage, obsessed about the mouse. Dh left the garage doors open for a few hours so maybe it escaped, who knows. Boo is exhausted from her “hunting” & maybe the trail is getting cold because she’s not so obsessed today (only went into the garage twice so far today) & is now sleeping inside.

Dh moved all the furniture off the patio & is spring cleaning out there. The boys went to walk around the farmers market that’s only a few minutes away. Then they are going to J’s brass band concert & out to dinner. Dh, G & me are staying home.

I cleaned up the kitchen & started a load of laundry. Then I’ll clean the master bathroom that I didn’t get to yesterday. Then doing some office work. I did not sleep well & only got a few hours in.

My fabric arrived so I should be starting A’s stocking tonight.

Just getting us started this morning.

Had a great nights sleep last night - 8.5 hours! DH is still sleeping so I'm just chilling on the couch with my coffee watching the news.

I do need to go email searching.  My dad's AFLAC isn't paying his daily rate for being in hospice yet because I need to get them an itemized bill for his days in hospice, and all I have is a 514 page document and since my dad is dead, I cannot upload anything it has to be faxed or mailed.  No way am I printing that many pages and my fax program has a limit of 40 pages.  So.........  I need to find the emails from the lady that got me that information and explain to her what they need.  I also need something like that from the nursing home but I am afraid to call them since they are owed 8K.

OK, well DH is up so time to get moving and he just reminded me we have to go to the bank to deposit the checks I did get from AFLAC into the estate account.

Have a great day

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carrie - I find it amazing how you are the trouble maker at work, your sister sides with everyone else yet here you are once again bailing her out.  I'm sure you won't get any appreciation for it either.

Joyce - good luck finding/catching the mouse.

I have to say that night I drank the Dr Enuf and couldn't sleep  actually made the time change easier.  I am usually a week or 2 before I get used to it... but I seem fine after that night and then getting a good nights sleep the next.

I bolted out of work half an hour early today - I was just done.  Nothing I could do in the last half hour and that got me ahead of traffic a little.  Still took over an hour but it moved.

Not sure exactly what we are doing tomorrow except DH has an appointment at 4 to get his tattoo touched up. The guy who did the work doesn't do it any more and move to Washington state but the guy we found know him and his work so keeping my fingers crossed he does a good job.  He is getting the flames behind the fire helmet on his are redone.

I'm watching Song Sung Blue, have you guys seen this?  It's an interesting movie - not what I expected.  Based on a true story.

Have a great night.
