sunshine but cooler here today, and much cooler tomorrow and then the snow starts.

justin came over last night and said your neighbor is looking good considering you told me he was dead. i said that as devan, he wasn't dead, he was in the nursing home temporarily.

worked last night til after 10 and i'm still not caught up.

i think i need two sundays.

got ahold of the tax guy last night, he won't have a chance to look at them until next week, so i'll just keep pecking away at it.

off to the showers

Joyce - when you went to Buc-cees you should buy our dad pajama pants to go with the T so maybe he'll change his pants.

Carrie - does your mom have no food, or no food she wants to eat?  ;)

I could not sleep last night.  I had washed all my sheets and got a new mattress pad from Amazon so I made up the bed with all new fresh linens and was in bed on schedule.  I tossed and turned and around midnight I finally gave up and got some melatonin.  Finally fell asleep but it wasn't a good sleep.

Got up this morning and snoozed one too many times.  By the time I got up showered etc I was not 10 minutes behind and wit an accident it took me an hour to get in and I arrived half an hour late.

Talked to MIL for over an hour tonight.

Getting ready to head to bed as soon as I see the weather.

Tomorrow I need to leave work early DH and I have our annual eye exams.

Have a great night.

Carrie, can someone drop meals off at her house that she can freeze & reheat? You know my little sister would be all over that if she could, lol!

started the thread, but didn't finish it.

supposed to be 61 and sunny today.

boys bb team is playing at state, so the entire town should be in des moines.

i know my bartender is!

spent yesterday setting up my mugs shop for facebook and instagram, didn't finish either one.

working on a book cover as well as cleaning.

mom is still in bed, although has no food in the house. not quite sure how that happened. for someone who goes to the store every. single. day. she must be buying for that day only.

i explained how to order on wal mart and have it delivered, and she just said cindy argued with her and wanted to it herself. pretty sure that's a lie. =)

during covid mom had both cindy and i running to the stores every other day if not more.

need to do more computer work tonight, book cover and etsy and sign up and learn the social media stuff. get easter and mother's day stuff up and running.

have a good monday all

I slept in since we lost the hour & because I got a lot done yesterday with W. In the family room W & I had dusted all the blinds, cleaned windows, rearranged & shampooed couches.

A month ago (2/5)  I wrote a check to our HOA & put it in the mail slot at our clubhouse. I saw on Informed Delivery we are getting a delinquent notice today. Dh went there- of course no one is answering the door. I called, they said they are no longer accepting checks there & I have to pay online. I’ve always dropped it in the mail slot before because paying online incurs a fee. And why didn’t they inform us when they opened my check? Idiots. So I got them to waive the late fee & I’ll pay online.

I’m going to go to Buc-ee's today to pick up some stuff to send to my dad for his birthday. What do you get a 95 year old? I’ll pick up some snacks & a Buc-ee’s t shirt.

Just housework & laundry to do today. And office work, blah. I need an upper level English tutor for 2 different cities, it would be great if I could find one person that would do both locations but they are 30 minutes apart.

well since everyone else started their own thread, i thought i'd start mine as well. =)

slept way in this morning, which i needed to do. so much stress last week.

called mom and she is on the pity train. somehow she had dina with her for days and didn't buy groceries and now has no food. so i told her how to get groceries delivered from wal mart and door dash. she said do they just bring you whatever they think you want? =) no, you pick out what YOU want and they bring it.

i said what happened to all the food in your freezer? she's always telling me she makes big casseroles and then freezes the rest. turns out she does that, then cleans out the freezer every couple of days and gives all the leftovers to the dogs. who are already completely overweight.

so she had a surgery that she knew she wouldn't be able to drive for a couple weeks, has no food in her fridge, none in her freezer, and the person who could have bought her groceries went home at noon.

so i told her to order some frozen meals and things like hot dogs and buns. order a bag of lettuce and cans of soup. buy a frozen pizza, that's 2-4 meals. she was completely stunned.

normally she goes to the store every day and buys just what she needs for that one day.

work smarter,  not harder.

off to work on more etsy stuff

Can't believe I'm first to post.

I was up at 7:30 and had my coffee and decided I better wake DH up at 8:30.  We go tout and did the BJs run and I think a lot of people forgot about the time change, the place was empty.

Came home, got rid of all the old plastic jugs we had in the garage and more boxes.  DH made brunch and his back is bothering him so we are hanging home.

I'm washing bed linens and just going through bills and will work on reviewing my dad's estate return so I can get it back to the accountant.

Have a great day!

Y, yes, my brother’s wife rules the roost & he is easy going & just gives in. But they’ve been married for 35 years so I guess that works for them. A will be in control of that relationship , Dh & I picked up on that right away. W will take Rusty with him when he moves out in hopefully a few months so while it’s not ideal, it’s temporary. Even if he ends up getting a job locally although it makes more financial sense for him to live at home & pay us rent, we’d like him to move out to learn some independence & budgeting. He’s nearly 26.

Smoke alarm started chirping at 1:30 am so I had to have W help me change batteries in 2 of them because there was no way I was going to sleep through it. Unlike DH.

Today Dh had a headache so we didn’t go to church. I walked Boo since he wasn’t up to it.

Dh worked in the yard. I cleaned up the kitchen. W did SAT tutoring. Now that he’s home I told him I’d like him to help me deep clean the family room. So he dusted the ceiling fan which required the big ladder, we wiped the interior windows & he’s dusting blinds. We will rearrange couches & I’ll finish dusting & vacuuming the room myself. I’m also going to get out the little shampooer & clean the couches & a few spots on the bedroom carpet where Boo “buried” her greasy bones. I told Dh he has to stop giving her meat bones because she keeps bringing them inside to hide them.

That’s all I’m doing today except maybe 1 load of laundry. Leftovers for dinner.
