General Discussion / Re: morning all...

That’s terrible about your son being hit from behind. Hopefully he’s ok! I’ve been hit a few times from behind, luckily they weren’t at a high speed (I was stopped). Twice I’ve seen other cars next to me getting hit from behind, it’s not pretty to witness (first one the guy passed out when his airbag deployed & I had to call 911, next one was on the expressway & debris went flying in the air).
I didn’t get any SSI work done yesterday but I’m not too worried. They will gather basic info on the phone with addresses & dates & they are supposed to contact his drs, therapists & schools. I’ll find out on the call what things I will need to gather & take in. So today I’ve moved everything off of the coffee table & spread my papers out. Just need to make sure I have everything ready & in front of me for tomorrow. My question is how far back can I go? We moved to TX in 2021 but the professionals that knew him best were his ST & DR in AR, but G hasn’t seen them in 5 years. The point of SSI is to determine whether he can work or not, so I don’t know if they will accept reports from when he was 14 years old.
That means they will rely mostly on school reports. He had an evaluation every 3 years. AR did formal testing & G scored low in every day functions. TX did not formally test him & relied on word of mouth from 2 teachers who said he had no problems with basic every day functions. Had I known better I should have insisted they formally test him.
Also TX Workforce wants to spend 10 hours with G as career guidance to see what kind of job he could handle. So I’m waiting for them to set up a call first.
I’m not doing any housework today. Just focusing on gathering the info I need for the call tomorrow.
W just told me his friend from Houston is coming here to spend a few days on the 13th. J is also staying with us that weekend as he has some orchestra thing in Dallas. So we’ll have a house full.
